Allison
I have always wanted to find a way to give back through my photography. When I started searching a few years ago, I found Magic Hour. Magic Hour partners with photographers and gives free sessions to those who are currently fighting cancer or have been in remission for less than two years. I chose the organization to honor my Mom who lost her battle in 2013.
In early October, I was contacted by them with the name of a recipient in my area. I feel honored to have been able to spend some time with Allison and her husband, Scott, and to photograph them on a beautiful evening in Frederick. As we were talking, I learned that her remission date is January 13th, which just happens to be my Mom's birthday. There was a reason we were brought together and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to capture her and Scott together and to celebrate with her.
In October 2016 at age 26, Allison was diagnosed with Stage II Hodkgin's Lymphoma and underwent three months of chemotherapy. She has been in remission since January 13th, 2017! And by her side through it all, is her husband and high school sweetheart, Scott. In January 2018, they will celebrate 10 years together and an entire year cancer free.

Mission: We are a national network of professional photographers who look to serve individuals and families fighting cancer. We do this by coordinating a photo session to celebrate the truly important things in life through photography. These charitable portrait sessions provide an opportunity for families to feel special and strong while they relax, smile and enjoy time with loved ones. Above all, we strive to express compassion and love as we support them, no matter the outcome of their battle.
