We had quite a bit of snow around here today (18+ inches) and I just bought a macro lens so I thought the two would go well together. I couldn't get any close up shots of snowflakes since sleet was starting to fall when I manged to get outside but I managed to focus on the little ice cube on my daughter's hat. ~ Focused

This has been my paradise the past week. We had a really bad ice storm in Maryland. We lost power for a day but I never realized how beautiful ice could really be. The trees just glistened!

We have had quite a bit of nasty weather here in Maryland. More recently, we had a bad ice storm that took out power at our house for 14 hours. Even though being without power for a day wasn't fun, the images I was able to capture of this ice storm were just beautiful. Who knew ice could be so beautiful?

This week, surprisingly, was very difficult for me. But then my daughter found a film camera that I just received in a gift exchange for Christmas. She was laying on the ground pretending to be me.
